FROM ONE IMAGE TO MANY
How to split your photo online
A few simple steps. A perfectly planned split.
01
Choose the image to divide
Open a photograph, illustration, classroom diagram, or finished design from your device.
02
Set equal rows and columns
Start with 2 × 2, choose another preset, or enter a custom layout up to 12 × 12.
03
Download the equal image pieces
Select PNG, JPG, or WebP. Save each section individually or download every tile in a ZIP.
A LITTLE INSPIRATION
Split a picture into 4, 9, or 16 equal parts
Use 2 × 2 for four pieces, 3 × 3 for nine, and 4 × 4 for sixteen. A custom grid can create any row-and-column combination within the tool limits. Each piece is named by position, making it easy to reassemble the full picture.
For a horizontal strip of side-by-side panels, use one row and multiple columns. For stacked pieces, use multiple rows and one column. The preview shows the exact orientation before export, so you can prepare panels for a layout, lesson, puzzle, or collage.
MADE TO BE PRACTICAL
Keep all source pixels when splitting into equal sections
The tool calculates boundaries against the original width and height. If a dimension is not divisible by the number of cuts, the remaining pixels are distributed across the pieces. Tile dimensions can differ by one pixel, without silently dropping an edge of the source.
BUILT AROUND YOUR PRIVACY
Choose a lossless format for diagrams and photo puzzles
PNG is suitable for diagrams, text, and images with transparent backgrounds. JPG can keep photo downloads smaller, and WebP is an alternative for compatible destinations. ZIP packaging keeps the complete set of pieces together.
Choose your image and select the 2 × 2 preset. The tool cuts the source into two rows and two columns, producing four downloadable files.
Can I split an image into three equal parts?
+
Yes. Choose 1 × 3 for three side-by-side parts, or use three rows and one column for three stacked parts.
Why are some equal image tiles one pixel larger?
+
A 1000-pixel width does not divide evenly into three whole-pixel columns. Boundaries are rounded so every original pixel is retained. A one-pixel difference is expected for uneven dimensions.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
+
No. The image tools read and process your selected file inside your browser. Your image is not sent to an image-processing server. Closing the page clears the working image from memory.
Which image formats can I split?
+
Open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, and other image formats your browser can decode. Download PNG for lossless graphics and transparency, or JPG and WebP for compressed photos. Animated inputs export as a still frame.
Can I download all the split images at once?
+
Yes. Generate your tiles, download individual pieces, or save the complete set in a ZIP file. Tiles have numbered filenames so you can keep their order.
